So today I found a new site that could be interesting for those of us starting to workout in gyms, or out for walks or cycling or whatever you want to do. I confess right here and now if I had all the money in the world I’d be a major gadget hound. Sadly I’ve been out of the loops for years. These days I think the neatest little FM tuner pen makes a great exercising mate. But its not enough and I really am considering looking for an mp3 player in short order.

Surfing around this relatively new site called TestFreaks.com I feel that I might be able to find what I’m looking for. TestFreaks aims to aggregate as many reviews as possible on a variety of different gadgets such as cell phones, digital cameras and mp3 players. As geeky as I feel, walking into the nearest electronic store doesn’t help unless I’m in a seriously impulsive spending mood. With this site you’ll be able to read a full description of each product as well as user reviews. There’s literally hundreds of options out there these days and it takes time to choose wisely no matter what you’re looking for.

The last time I purhased anything remotely related to an MP3 player was about 3 years ago when I purchased a cd/radio player combo. I was able to burn a cd of as many of my mp3 songs as it could fit, plunk it into the cd player and away I went. Great for walking, not so great because of the size if I want something I’m going to take consistently with me to the gym for example. An mp3 player with an FM radio is essential for me. These days there’s even a bunch of mp3 players that have video options as well! I’m considering those too. Anyway, have a look around on the website. It’s in alpha testing right now, according to what they’re stating on the website.

In the meantime, if anyone wants to recommend a player that’s small, decent capacity complete with FM tuner, I want to hear about it.
