About GIDietBoard
The GI Diet Board is a website designed to be informal and supportive for anyone interested in the low glycemic index weigh management and lifestyle. I post personal reviews and observations about the GI diet, as well as tips that have worked for me, or the latest news articles on GI.
I also have a GI Diet Forum and encourage anyone who’s looking for support and general chit chat about the GI Diet, to join this forum. Let’s support each other!
About the Author/Webmaster:
Name: Chris R.
Before Weight: 475
Current Weight: 340
Goal Weight: 200
History: In 2002, I was diagnosed with Type II diabeties. My mobility was severely compromised and my morbid obesity was hurting my health. Becoming officially diagnosed with diebeties was the defining moment for me to enter into a different type of lifestyle. Switching to a lower carb diet was difficult at first, but I gradually adjusted until I was ready to try the GI plan.
After reading “The GI Diet in 2004, I started using online support groups, fitness stats programs, and other tools to stay on this food plan. After losing 20 lbs in one month on the plan, I started walking every day. 3 months later, I lost another 30 lbs. A 50 lb drop in one summer plus the previous 30 dropped from my gradual change time period made my total weight loss dropped by 80 lbs. by the end of 2005, I managed to shed off another 60 lbs.
I credit the generally easy to follow concept of low GI, to help me reach my weight loss and management goal thus far.
Since I’ve been diagnosed I noticed many people discover GI Diet and love it.
That’s why I want to continue to write about it, and hope to hear from others too.
Thanks,
Chris R.
